Western wall face of the western piece of ^wall13 in J5. The wall face consists of six irregular courses of medium-sized stones. The masonry is composed of stones of varying quality, ranging from unshaped, rounded rough blocks to roughly parallelepipedal blocks. The courses are arranged so that each stone in an upper course is positioned over the joint between two stones in the course below, thereby enhancing the stability of the structure. The joints, measuring between 2 and 10 cm in thickness, are filled with mud mortar containing a small number of stone inclusions. The lowest visible course is partially obscured by the obliquely laid stones of ^escarpment1. [Input: ZK304pC.j] |
